has been to set up an effective recruitment
strategy with selection criteria to attract the
right people for the right jobs.

This has had a positive impact in achieving
a higher calibre of applicants & therefore more
successful recruiting. The next stage has been
a thorough induction programme for all new
employees followed by on-going reviews.
They are actively encouraged to give their
own feedback, so creating an open dialogue.

Another major investment in people within
Advantage has been the introduction of
National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs).

A programme of NVQs to Level 2 and 3 were introduced earlier this year.
They are nationally recognised qualifications in the production of glass supporting fabrication carried
out in the work place over a 2-3 year period. All staff are given the opportunity to gain additional skills
in customer service, IT and health and safety.

As Helen says; "The NVQ training programme is already having a positive effect throughout the whole
company. We are now receiving applications from people who want to combine work in addition to
gaining extra qualifications. By allowing our people to develop and progress within the company we
are seeing an overall improvement in the motivation of the workforce and a positive affect on the
quality of our products and services ."
