title NEW YEAR MESSAGE from Danny Hague, Group Commercial Director

In my New Year message last year I predicted that 2005 would be a tough year.
With the benefit of hindsight, few would argue with that fact.
At fabricator level, it almost felt like
we went 12 rounds with each other. As there was little or no growth in either trade frames or roofs
in 2005, all we could do was fight for business from our competitors.

Also of concern to me in 2005 was the
level of failure rates and the number
of consolidations. Close to my heart
was the demise of Premier Profiles
where I worked in my earlier days.

However, we are not the only industry
to suffer over the past year. In my home
town of Coventry, the automotive
industry has fared even worse.

Despite tough market conditions
Advantage has managed to achieve
a growth of 30% in certain areas of our
business. This has certainly bucked
the trend and was the result of our
programme of investment at the
beginning of 2005.

Whilst I have similar fears of another
tough year in 2006, I am forecasting
a comparable level of growth for
Advantage this year. We have already
developed an exciting new marketing
strategy which I believe will be unique.

It will be unveiled in the spring. We will remain aggressive in our sales efforts and provide a simple -
no frills service. I am confident that Advantage will continue to have a high level of customer retention
this year and I expect to gain more market share.

One thing I am sure of is that by the end of this year, the industry will be leaner, fitter and stronger,
which must be good for us all in the long run.
