title LEANNE'S NEW YORK MARATHON

Joe Makin, an area manager for Advantage Windows and Conservatories Ltd, the Cheshire - based
trade fabricator, has devoted most of his spare time to helping and coaching boys and girls at
Reddish Vulcans JFC, one of the country's most successful junior football clubs. An ex professional
player and now an FA qualified coach - Joe's passion is coaching and developing young players
to fulfil their potential.

Joe was deeply affected by an 8 year old
boy at the club who was diagnosed with
Leukaemia. He lost his mother to breast
cancer and his father has given up work
to look after him. Joe decided to get
involved and he enlisted the help of
his daughter Leanne.

Leanne began running in sponsored
events for the charity 'Children with
Leukaemia' one year ago. A good
distance runner, she has competed
in 12 events so far including the BUPA
Manchester 10k run and the Puma
Lakeland Trails Half Marathon and
has so far raised over £1,000.

Leanne and Joe's unfailing support for
Children with Leukaemia has not gone
unnoticed and Leanne was surprised
to learn that the charity had secured
her a place in the Great North Run in
September, one of the major races
in the calendar. Normally premium
events such as this are difficult to get
into as places are scarce. Leanne was
even more surprised when she was
told that they had also managed to
secure a place for her in the New York
Marathon, the world's biggest marathon,
taking place in November.

Leanne's aim is to raise £5,000 in
sponsorship from running the New York
marathon for Children with Leukaemia.

.Joe, Leanne her husband Kirk and other family members have formed 'Team Makin'.
They are all travelling to New York at their own expense for the week of the marathon to support Leanne
who has already raised £1,600 with the help of friends and family. Advantage Windows have also
offered their support and are helping to publicise Leanne's efforts to the window industry.

If you would like to support Leanne you can do so through Advantage's website.

donate just £1 to this fantastic charity which directly funds the research and treatment of children
with Leukaemia, we could most certainly save many lives."
